Understanding the importance of training and the need to achieve the desired outcome, a working group convened by the CDC recently published recommendations for biosafety competencies for generalized operations of facility. Providing effective safety training and mentoring is a cornerstone of biosafety and is universally instituted in academia, government and industry. Training is also legally required for compliance by OSHA and Select Agent Regulations. Our Registered Biosafety Professionals, microbiologists, industrial hygienists and engineers provide training in Canada and worldwide at all biosafety levels, for all skill levels of people in the lab (novice, practitioners, experts) as well as support staff (housekeeping, administrators, engineers, security, managers, etc). Our program uses adult training and interactive techniques that enhance the learning experience. We offer standardized biosafety and biosecurity training modules as well as modules that are site-specific and tailored to your lab. By combining classroom training that is reinforced with class exercises, and hands-on training in the lab using your PPE and equipment with best practices, we succeed in raising awareness and skill levels of trainees while teaching them ‘why’ and ‘how’ certain practices or engineering promotes safety.
